I run a local ARMA study group in Orange County, CA. We study and practice historical (medieval and renaissance) European martial arts from original source material (i.e., translated manuals written by the masters of the time, properly weighted replicas of original weapons and training tools, historical training methods, etc.). I have many other interests that don't necessarily converge. I love nature, I follow politics as an independent, I study law, I enjoy cooking, and I like intelligent conversation about current events, history, scientific discoveries, and future possibilities. I am also learning Esperanto, as you might have gathered by now. I'm an ISTJ and a Scorpio, too. ;)

The most important thing in my life is my spirituality. I have identified as an Anglo-Saxon Pagan since 1998, and I live with my other half, vanirpriestess, who shares my faith. We are working on a Vanic-focused practice at home that is respectful of the Eddas, Sagas, historical texts, and the context of Anglo-Saxon culture, as well as containing mystical UPGs that are a natural result of real contact with the Gods. I am not afraid to honestly examine anthropology and archaeology, and ask questions as to how to make the Old Gods relevant in the 21st century. I have Ingui (Frey) as a patron Deity, and I appreciate what He represents: sensuality and "the good life". I am also close to Woden, Frige, and Wuldor, and do try to honor the Others as well.

I find this to be useful in defining where I stand on certain fault lines within the Northern Tradition:
